“Can we take a direct flight back to reality, or do we have to change planes in Denver?”

SPOILERS AHEAD!

The Santa Clause, one, two, and three, is about a father named Scott Calvin played by Tim Allen who accidentally kills Santa Claus in front of his nine year old son, and then becomes him. This is because of “The Santa Clause” (often confused with the actual name, Santa Claus)

The Santa Clause is as follows: “in putting on the suit and entering the sleigh, the wearer waives any and all rights to any previous identity, real or implied, and fully accepts the duties and responsibilities of Santa Claus in perpetuity until such time that wearer becomes unable to do so by either accident or design.”

This however is not what Scott Calvin reads until it is too late, dubbing him as Santa. The first movie follows Scott Calvin dealing and rejecting the fact he is now Santa, while his son Charlie tries to get him to realize the magic of Christmas again. This first installment is a heartwarming story about Scott and his son getting to know each other again, while he learns to love his new role as Santa Clause.

The Santa Clause 2 once again faces Santa Claus with another clause eight years later, the Mrs. Clause. (Often confused with the actual name, Mrs. Claus.) which is never fully read aloud or fully shown in the movie, but states: “The card holder acknowledges a woman of his choosing, to be bound in holy matrimony.” This, and the fact his son Charlie is getting in trouble at school, prompts him to find love before it’s too late. Charlie's actions lead Santa to falling in love with his principal, Carol Newman. With every future Christmas on the line, Santa asks Carol to marry him after falling in love with her. And just like that, the Northpole has taken another hostage, and Christmas is saved!

The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause is ranked the worst on IMDB, Rotten-

Tomatoes, and Metacritic. In this movie, Mrs. Claus is having a baby, toy production is behind schedule, and inlaws are coming. Worst of all, Jack Frost has volunteered to study under Santa’s wing. Jack Frost tricks new head elf Curtis into telling him about The Escape Clause, which is never fully quoted or shown, but states that a Santa must hold his own secret Santa snow globe and say the words ``I wish I had never become Santa at all.” which will then take the Santa back in time to when they became Santa, and stop themselves from ever making the decision. After a fight with Mrs. Claus and the inlaws, Jack Frost tricks Santa into saying the magical words, and like that, Scott Calven is back and Jack is the new Santa. Scott Calven then tricks Jack Frost into saying the magical words, and gains his job back, putting a spring to his step and fixing all the problems right before christmas.

This trilogy also gained a Disney+ episodic series which released November 16th, 2022 and is currently running a second season. Whether this is a welcome addiction to the universe is unknown, as fans are pretty split about it.

All of these movies are also on Disney+ for Santa Clause lovers to enjoy. And if you haven’t seen them before, what are you reading this for? This short article can’t do the movies justice, so go watch them for yourself!
