Marion Harding High School's athletic trainer, Tim Brown has recently announced that he will be leaving Harding. While it was an extremely difficult decision, Tim has accepted a new job at Nationwide Children’s Hospital working in their Functional Rehabilitation program to pursue his true passion of patient care.
His last day was Saturday December 10th, 2022. He worked at Harding for a total of 9 years. Over the past 9 years, Tim along with those he has worked with have been able to accomplish many things. Tim said some of those accomplishments include having the best Athletic Training facilities in the region and with help from Dr. Heather Columber, the OhioHealth Marion OPG providers and OHSM, they’ve been able to provide sports physicals for over 1,110 athletes. Not only did Tim and his colleagues accomplish all that, but he said they’ve also reduced the re-injury rate for student athletes to “under 6%” and they’ve “provided over 1.4 million dollars in Athletic Training Services to students and staff.”
Over the past 9 years some of Tim’s favorite things of working at Harding have been, working with injured athletes and making sure they “Trust Tim’s process,” and witnessing both current and former athletes succeed in sports and academics.
A few words and “Marionisms” Tim would like to leave his athletes with are:
1. Control the controllables
2. Use a common sense approach
3. You only know what you know
4. Do simple better
5. Be the change
6. Make a difference
7. Go be awesome
Thank you, Tim, for everything you’ve done over these past 9 years. You will be missed at Harding.
