Grace Cornell is the program coordinator for the new micro farm here at Harding. This past May she graduated from The Ohio State University.
When asked what made her interested in agriculture, she said “When I was first a freshman at OSU, that’s when they started the micro farm in Mansfield. I was just interested in [OSU’s] goal in the project, which is to allow new people to become farmers.”
If Miss Cornell wasn’t a micro farm coordinator; she claimed she would be working in a plant nursery or a greenhouse.
She expressed that so far, working at Harding has been a good experience. Her favorite thing about working at Harding is being able to work outside, but behind the scenes she says she doesn’t enjoy the computer work.
In high school, she most enjoyed science. Miss Cornell grew up in the city and wants students to know that even if you live in the city, there’s many different ways and opportunities that you can get into agriculture.
