The history of Christmas goes all the way back to when Jesus was born to celebrate his birthday. Santa Claus was a made-up figure to make Christmas a special thing for little kids but did you know that he was a real person back in the 1600?
Christmas is not the only holiday in December.
Hanukkah is a Jewish holiday where they light the candles on a menorah to symbolize the oil burned in the temple when it was destroyed. It is a family holiday just like Christmas with just a little more traditions than our well known christmas.
Did you know that when you put a tree topper on your tree it symbolizes Jesus's birthday. The eight reindeer for the sleigh for Santa were from a poem called “‘Twas the night before christmas”. Another holiday celebrated in December is Kwanzaa which is an African American holiday celebrated on December 26th.
