Popcorn Friday has been around for over 25 years for students and staff, and a lot of students were glad they had it off this year–even though not many students showed up last year on Popcorn Friday.
The Popcorn Festival has been happening longer than Popcorn Friday because it has been around for 41 years. It’s one of the largest popcorn festivals in the world, annually attracting crowds of over 250,000 people. Marion County in Ohio is one of the top growers of popcorn in the United States, and Wyandot, Inc. is one of the largest exporters of popcorn in the World.
The festival is held over a three day period the weekend of Labor Day. It starts on Thursday and ends on Saturday. The crowds are always huge each day.
People from all over come to Marion, Ohio for one reason: the Popcorn Festival.
