Shila Woods is a homecoming queen nominee for the 2022 school year.
If Shila could tell her past self anything, it would be “to focus on the future and not the past. Things will get better as you grow.”
Shila stated that Taryah (another of the homecoming queen nominees) is someone who pushes Shila to do her best in everything she does. She also said that her dad was someone who inspires her because he is a hard worker who is an amazing role model.
Shila’s favorite memory from her high school career is 2019’s homecoming because “it was the best dance, and it was the most fun.”
“A homecoming queen should be someone who can lead and is a good role model. You can’t be the homecoming queen if you’re a bad person.”
Shila runs track, is involved in TI, and has a job. She plans on going to a 4 year university to get a BSN (Bachelor of Science and Nursing) for nursing. Shila’s chosen song to sum up her high school career is “Doing Better” by Lil Poppa.
Shila’s advice for the younger students at Harding is, “Stay on top of your school work. Time flies so don’t try to rush.”
