Brooklyn Holycross

Brooklyn has had a busy high school career being involved in cross country, basketball and football cheer, swim, and track. Now added to the list is being in the top ten of homecoming court. She will be escorted by Payne Ratliff.

Even with all of these extra curriculars Brooklyn’s favorite memories lie within cross country and track, whether it be practice or a meet. When asked what it means to be homecoming queen Brooklyn answered, “Being homecoming queen really to me is knowing that you've been kind, you've been a good person, and that's why people want to vote for you.”

She advised younger students to “get involved” saying that sports are fun, and you can meet a lot of new people.

Brooklyn says, “I think what inspires me most is life in general.” She explains that you can always learn from your surroundings.

She says the song to sum up her high school career is “I’m Gonna Be” by Post Malone. “I listen to it before I run because it’s just like, I’m gonna be ‘what I wanna, what I wanna’ and it’s like corny but it really makes me feel like I can do what I wanna do and be who I wanna be.”

She would say to her younger self, “don't limit yourself based on what other people think you can or can't do.”

Brooklyn intends to go to a four year university to get a degree to begin working in the medical field.
