Among the Homecoming court of 2021 will be Shealana Booker. She will be escorted by Marquis Adams.
Shealana’s great list of extracurricular activities includes track, being vice president for the student council, multicultural club, being a member of the leading ladies, and tutoring at Grant Withrow.
Her opinion is that a homecoming queen should be a hard worker and should strive for the best, saying that a homecoming queen should pick everybody up and make sure everybody is okay. She makes sure to note that “You can only do so much.”
She says that the people around her inspire her saying that “they'll never let me fail.”
Her advice to her fellow students is to “live it up” and to enjoy all school-related events.
Her plan for after graduation is to go to Howard University for engineering and track, with psychology and sociology as an alternative plan. She also mentions Ashland as an in-state option she's considering.
Shealana says that her favorite memories from her time at Harding include the track meets and being at the student sections for the schools football games citing a great moment in a recent game where the quarterback was “laid out” and the student section got excited.
She says that the song that sums up her high school experience is “Everyday Be Lit.”
