How did you hear about this position and why did you decide to apply for it?
My little brother Jordan mentioned that there was a position and I wanted to be around the kids because I am a football coach. I applied just because I wanted to be around the kids more, and not only the football athletes but all of the kids here and I wanted to be a light to this school and hopefully to some of the kid’s lives as well.
How has it been so far?
It's been good. Every job comes with challenges, but the lord has blessed me with a good sense of humor and patience. I have no complaints.
What has been the best thing that has happened?
Having a student open up and feel like they were comfortable enough to talk to me about what they had going on. The fact that some of these kids feel like they have a safe place and someone to talk to, I feel like I'm fulfilling my purpose.
Will you be around next year or is this position temporary?
I hope the district brings me back for next year. Now that I work and coach here I’m a prexie through and through now. So I hope they bring me back next year and for many more years to come.
