Kay-Lee is a candidate for the 2021 Homecoming Court. She is going to be escorted by her classmate Alexis Coleman.
Kay-Lee has been a part of Harding’s fall color guard and winter guard since the seventh grade.
Her future plans are attending Ohio Wesleyan University and majoring in zoology and minor in environmental science, leading to her end goal of being a zookeeper.
Her favorite memory at Harding was when she visited the The Wild safari with GEAR UP. They went ziplining as well.
Kay-Lee also shared what it means to be a homecoming queen. Such as that a “homecoming queen should have all different types of qualities, a homecoming queen shouldn’t be strictly labeled to certain aspects. To be homecoming queen you should show a great sense of leadership and someone that everybody wants to be around.”
Somebody who inspires Kay-Lee is her boss from work: “he came from a really messed up area and he made a better life for himself. Seeing how adults can change too gives me a really big sense of inspiration.”
Finally, her advice to the younger students at harding: “don’t try to go out of your way to be cool or popular. Stuff happens. You shouldn’t make your high school career focusing on popularity. Just be yourself.”
