Recent news has been spiraling around about the beef between two famous rap artists J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar. These two artists have been well-known in the rap/hip-hop industry for years due to their relatable lyrics or unsinkable beats. J. Cole formerly known as Jermaine Cole has been in the rap industry since 2003, making it 21 years in the industry making his first-ever song called “Bref Control” released in 2003, gaining over 43.5 million followers since the beginning of his music career While Kendrick Lamar known as Kendrick Lamar Duckworth being in the rap industry for roughly about 20-21 years making his first-ever song “Whatcha Know About It” helping him get over 60.6 million followers throughout the years.
Beef/Drama:
A recent playlist “We Don’t Trust You” by Future himself contains a song featuring Kendrick and Metro Boomin called “Like That” gaining millions of people’s attention, soon after the song was published people started to notice that this song was dis to Drake and J. Cole caused the internet to break due to the unexpected diss Kendrick expresses in the song that he is the only one on top in the music industry by himself and doesn't need the big three.
J. Cole responded to Kendrick's dis with his single called “7 Minute Drill” which was made a couple of days later. Throughout the song, he expresses that this song is a warning not to mess with him while mentioning that it takes Kendrick twelve years to make four albums while he can make more than just four albums in twelve years. Later on, J. Cole apologized on stage for dissing Kendrick back, and many fans were disappointed in him, saying Cole was the middle child for leaving just Kendrick and Drake against each other.
