Betsy Abbott (Withrow) - ESP/ Education Support Professional

This is Ms. Abbott’s first year working in a school, and she loves it! “I love it. I think Withrow is much needed for our youth. I have really enjoyed getting to know the students and staff,” she says. She became a teacher at Harding because “I have always enjoyed working with young people.” Ms. Abbott has worked in the Marion community for over 18 years.

James Pearson - CBI

Mr. Pearson has been teaching for over 19 years, however this is his first year at Harding. Mr Pearson was teaching at Dublin Jerome High School before coming to Harding. The first quarter has gone well for Mr. Pearson. He says he has had a lot of help from other teachers trying to get back into his daily routine.

Kathryn Curnutte - Spanish

This is Ms. Curnutte’s first year teaching, so she is starting out fresh with Harding! Ms. Curnutte is very thankful to all of the warm welcomes she has received from other teachers saying “all the other teachers have been really welcoming and have made me feel comfortable, which is extremely helpful!” Ms. Curnutte wanted to become a teacher so that she could help younger people learn. She also likes that every day is something different.

Savannah Carter - Science

Before coming to Harding High, Ms. Carter was a student teacher at Ada High school. This is her first year full-time teaching. Ms. Carter says that she wanted to become a teacher so that she can “help students who do not see potential in themselves” and so that she can give them an opportunity to improve themselves.

Alison Carr - Consumer Science

Ms. Carr worked for Delaware City Schools before coming to Harding. She also worked as a preschool teacher for 6 years and a kindergarten teacher for 4 years. Mrs. Carr says that her first quarter has gone well but she also says, “the first quarter has been overwhelming.” She decided to work at Harding because it is familiar to her.

Samuel Lotz - Psychologist

Mr. Lotz is the new Harding psychologist. It is his first year being a full time psychologist, and he has enjoyed it so far, saying, “it has gone very well overall. While it has taken time to adjust to the new role, I have found it to be very enjoyable due to the overwhelming support I have received from other staff members.” Before coming to Harding, Mr. Lotz was studying at The Ohio State University in Columbus so that he could become a school psychologist. While he was training he was sent to other schools such as Southwestern City Schools and Columbus City Schools. He decided to become a psychologist because he loved the mental health field and the “development of students during their educational experiences.”

Joseph Andenoro - Assistant Principal

Mr. Andenoro is one of our assistant principals, and it is his first year being a principal. He has been a teacher before, but he decided to change and become a principal because “I felt like I had a skill set that translated well for the role,” and that “It's always been something I considered, and I'm glad that I am able to fill that role here.” Before coming to Harding he worked at Reynoldsburg High School. He has worked in education for 10 years.

Sarah Wingert (Withrow) - English

This is Ms. Wingert’s first year working as a full-time teacher. Last year she was a substitute teacher for Marion City Schools and Galion City Schools, and before last year she was completing her student teaching at Knox County Career Center. She says that “the first quarter has gone well, just very quickly.” Ms. Wingert says that she is very happy to be teaching, just that “there are some days that are more satisfying than others.” She decided to become a teacher so that she could combine her love of helping young students and her love of English and Literature.

Diane Thompson - Literacy

Ms. Thompson has been teaching for 14 years and before coming to Harding she was an Elementary school teacher at Taft and Garfield. She is still trying to get used to the bell schedule, but she likes the flexibility. She likes that she has some of her old students from back when she was teaching elementary. Ms. Thompson decided to become a teacher because “I am passionate about reading and want everyone to have opportunities to be successful in this game of life. I want to help make reading skills less confusing and explain the irregularities in our English Language.”
