Prom is finally around the corner! The big event that teenage boys and girls alike fuss and stress over till days end. With how crazy this school year has been, you might have missed a few details, so here is everything you need to know about prom!
Prom, as always, will be held at the Palace, more specifically The May Pavilion. As everyone must know by now, Tangled is our proms theme and the decorations will reflect as much. Prom will be held from 7pm till 10pm on May 11th. Tickets will be 25 dollars and go on sale two weeks before prom.
Prom will also have a DJ that has requested that we all request songs, giving us all a chance. Miller says “he’s gonna play the list we give him, just make sure everybody understands he’s playing everybody's music so he doesn’t wanna hear people complain about other songs or asking to turn them off.” Prom will also have a caricature artist who will be free because it comes with your prom ticket.

Mr. Miller sent out a form asking if students would be willing to pay 20 dollars or more for an after prom ticket. An overwhelming amount of people said no, so after prom tickets are 5 dollars and went on sale April 16th. After prom will only happen if we get at least 50 students to buy tickets. After prom will be here at Harding High School and will last from 10pm till 1 am. The activities of after prom include a movie, which Miller sent out a form asking for one, ping pong tables, pizza, an open gym, and a game room in the library.
When Juniors and Seniors were asked about the prom theme, the majority of students said they were very neutral about the theme, some had stronger feelings towards it, saying “What are we in elementary school?” and “...our homecoming theme was just enchanted forest this year, so I think it’s kinda repetitive… It just doesn't make any sense to me. Second of all, how are you even going to decorate for that? Is someone going to build a tower out of cardboard and tape a picture of Rapunzel in the window?? Just tacky. I just don’t think it’s an actual theme at all.”
Asking what people thought the prom theme should be was a mistake. Despite all the hate that Tangled has been given, it's certainly better than “cars” or “Batman” or “men wear dresses, girls wear suits” that one isn’t even a theme, it’s just a clothing idea. So maybe Tangled isn’t so bad, after all, it could be much worse
