Student Council Says "No" to Bullying

pattyforeman87

Bullies suck, so Mr. Kress and the student council decided to take a stand against them through a week of promoting anti-bullying.

Not only was $95 raised through the candy grams for sale all week during lunch periods, but over 250 people signed the anti-bullying pledge, entering students into a drawing for a gift card. Stop bullying and get money!

The winners of the pledge raffle were:

- 4th period lunch - Ryan Newsome

- 6th period lunch - Quinn Menzie

- 8th period lunch - Brooklyn Smith

There were also poster contests held for HQs, calling for classes to create posters that center around anti-bullying. Ms. Casal’s class ended up winning with an a-dough-rable donut poster. Talk about a pretty a-glaze-ing pun, am I right? No, really…am I right?

According to Mr. Kress, most people had favorable reactions to the events. However, they hope for more participation for spirit week next year.

Spirit week was as follows:

- Monday - Red & Pink Day

- Tuesday - PJ Day

- Wednesday - Hat day

- Thursday - Dress up Day

- Friday - Black out Day

A big thank you to all those that participated in the events!
