Mr. Ramsey is an English teacher here at Harding. Currently he teaches English 1. Prior to working here at Harding, Mr. Ramsey was a teacher at Grant Middle School. A colleague made the change to teach here at the high school and she claimed that she loved the switch, so this year he too chose to move up to the high school.
Mr. Ramsey originally wanted to be a coach when he was older and as he got into high school he had many teachers who gave him a very positive high school experience making him want to be a teacher. If he had not been a teacher, Mr. Ramsey claimed that he thought about being a police officer for a while.
He claimed that he loves Harding's emphasis on school pride. Mr. Ramsey voiced that he loves getting to see students he taught at the middle school continue to grow into young adults.
Being an educator often brings stress to the lives of those educating children and teens. When asked how he deals with the stress that comes with teaching Mr. Ramsey replied that he “Reminds myself that everything I do is for the betterment of young people. Except the little wins because it can get overwhelming. When the kids get that ‘Ah-ha’ moment it validates all the stress and anxiety.”
Some interesting facts about Mr. Ramsey include that he is married to his high school sweetheart who he met here at Harding, he’s a huge Cleveland Browns fan and he enjoys playing golf and tennis.
