The calendar for the next school year has been chosen, and some students and teachers are shocked. The calendar that was chosen has a long winter break and a long spring break.
All students will report on August 16, 2022–with teachers and staff starting August 8–and the last day of school for students will be on May 23, 2023. Even though a new calendar was created as an option and the board looked at it, teachers still chose calendar A.
Next year, like all the calendars that are created by the assistant superintendent Jennifer Lawson, the calendar will include 184 teacher and student working days and the year must meet the ODE minimum hours required for students.
Winter break for next year will start on December 19, 2022 and go till January 2, 2023, spring break will be from March 20, 2023 through March 24, 2023. In our previous article, Popcorn Friday was mentioned that it will not be coming back anytime soon, and that is true even though it has been around for over 25 years.
It doesn’t look like it will be coming back to the calendars anytime soon and will just be another normal day from now on.
